September 20, 2012 - Thursday Vigil

I arrived tonight, faced WomanCare abortion mill, blest myself with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground & said the Prayer for the Helpless Unborn, the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel for all Prayer Warriors, the Dearest Mother Mary prayer, JPII's Pro-life prayer, the Prayer for our Pastors, & then Maribeth arrived...yeah!!! She read the 2012 National Prayer for our nation & then led the rosary reading a brief Luminous Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary.  We walked back & forth along the sidewalk, heard happy honks of approval every now & then, got smiles from a gramma, mom & little girl on a bike as they went passed us.  As we were praying the last decade of the rosary, we saw walking toward us, our precious Susan!!! Yeah!!! She was feeling well enough to join us in prayer for the unborn for a little while. Thank you Jesus for that special blessing.  She is such a strong prayer warrior as she goes through medical issues & we must keep praying to Fr. Solanus for him to pray for her good health to return.  We ended our prayer vigil saying the "Prayer for the Conversion of Abortionists and Their Staffs."   A man walked by & looked over at our signs & said "God bless you."  We said, "thank you & God bless you as well."  (Jenny)

We were doubly blessed by being able to share in a meal together -- celebrating our friendship and praising God for His unending blessings!!

September 13, 2012 - Thursday Vigil

Thursday night I arrived a little early, faced WomanCare abortion mill, blest myself with holy water & sprinkled a little on the ground & said the Prayer for the Helpless Unborn, the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel for all Prayer Warriors, the Dearest Mother Mary prayer, JPII's Pro-life prayer, the Prayer for our Pastors, & the 2012 National Prayer for our nation.  A young man stopped by to talk for a bit. He said his father was waiting for him but he just had to stop by to say he liked the sign "Pray To End Abortion" & he was 100% with us.  I gave him one of our brochures & he will check out the website. He is a student at Oakland University & I pray that he & other pro-lifers his age will get out to the the various abortion mills to pray during 40 Days for Life.

I began the rosary, reading a brief Joyful Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary.  Norma then joined me & led the rest of the rosary.  A young man pulled up & stopped his car & read my sign with no expression on his face.  Norma said hopefully it made him think about abortion.  She then read from our Family Prayer Booklet, pro-life beatitude reflections "Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God" ~ "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God", "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake; the Kingdom of heaven is theirs", "Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely on My account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven."  We both said AMEN to this & also talked about how great it will be to be met in Heaven by the little ones killed at WomanCare who we prayed for.  She then read the Prayer for Unborn Children and An Old Testament Litany For Life, which I answered "Lord, You give us life!  Next was the Litany for Peace, the song On Eagle's Wings & the Prayer to the Holy Spirit.  A mom, grandma & little girl on a bike passed by with smiles toward Norma & I.  We heard happy honks throughout the prayer vigil.  We then ended our prayer vigil saying the "Prayer for the Conversion of Abortionists and Their Staffs."  (Jenny)

September 6, 2012 - Thursday Vigil

Tonight as I arrived at WomanCare abortion mill I saw Sue, our co-director of 40 Days for Life.  Yeah!!! I would not be the lone prayer warrior.  Maribeth arrived shortly thereafter.  We shared holy water & I sprinkled a bit on the ground then, Sue opened up our prayer vigil by saying Cardinal Dolan's pro-life prayer from the Republican convention.  I had checked this out on-line a few days back & it is a very powerful prayer.  Do so, if you get a chance. Maribeth then read from our Family Prayer Booklet, pro-life beatitude reflections. "Blessed are the poor in spirit; the kingdom of heaven is theirs" ~ the unborn are the poorest of the poor and God call us to speak up for them. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" ~ do we truly mourn those little, tiny babies being torn apart in the womb?. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." ~ The meek know that God's light is all that we needed.   The Culture of Death says your own personal needs go before even the baby in the womb. "Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice; they will be satisfied." ~ Pro-life folks seek justice for the weakest among us, the babes in the womb who are not protected by any law at this time. "Blessed are they who show mercy; mercy shall be theirs." ~ We pray for all in the abortion industry that they will find a way to God's Divine Mercy.

This last beatitude of mercy reminded me that I had just received from my baby sister, Marilyn, prayer booklets she had made up for me: The Chaplet of Divine Mercy with St. Faustina's meditations on The Passion. (Sis, they are just beautiful!!! Maribeth & Sue & I thank you sooo very much!!!) Sue was our leader as we prayed along with this booklet, The Agony of Jesus, The Scourging, The Crowning with Thorns, Carrying of the Cross & The Crucifixion. St. Faustina's meditations simply tug at your heart at how Jesus suffered for all of us. What a beautiful way to pray in front of an abortion mill!!!

Right away we heard a happy honk & thumbs up in approval from the driver.  Then a gal was slowed down for the light & said "thank you for praying."  We heard happy honks off & on during the prayer hour.  There might have been one negative, but I'm not really sure what was yelled at us, a positive or a negative, just could not hear it with all the traffic.  We held our "Pray to End Abortion" & "Vote Pro-Life" signs as we faced traffic this evening.  We ended our prayer vigil with the "Prayer for the Conversion of Abortionists and Their Staffs."   (Jenny)

August 30, 2012 - Thursday Vigil

Thursday night I arrived at WomanCare abortion mill, blest myself with holy water, sprinkled a bit on the ground & shared it with the other prayer warriors.  We all held various signs, "Pray To End  Abortion", "Face It, Abortion Kills a Person", "Vote Pro-Life".  These help remind folks passing by what we are peacefully praying about out there & it is always great when a person walking by us will look over at the WomanCare sign or when a person driving by us stops to look at the WomanCare sign... they get it!!! ....unborn babies are being killed there. Most of them leave shaking their heads.  I always pray that they will one day join our group for a bit to pray along with us & it happens every now & then which is an excellent blessing from God!!!

Richard led the Rosary meditating on the Luminous Mysteries. Maribeth, Karen & I prayed along with him.  A young man on a bike rode by with a smile & his thumb up toward our prayer group. Happy honks of approval could be heard & a "long honk" now & then which usually means an unhappy soul toward our praying for the end of abortion.  We always say a quick prayer of healing for these folks because it usually means they are hurting from abortion in some way. Karen was reading the reflection on Noah about the beautiful rainbow being God's covenant to us as a car passed & a gal yelled "you foolish, evil people."  We looked at each other & I said, "we are the foolish, evil ones?!?!?! ...peacefully praying here to end the savage killing of helpless little ones in the womb?!?!?"  As always, we said a quick prayer for that poor, misguided soul.  Karen continued on reading about Noah... "Those who did not listen to God as Noah did, probably thought that Noah was foolish..." WOW!!! that gal  had called us foolish, evil ones... Thank you, Jesus, for this blessing from the words about Noah that You most certainly do hear our prayers & answer them.  Who knows, our being there might be how Jesus uses us to touch the heart of that gal & bring her to Him for His Divine Mercy.  I get tears in my eyes when seemingly negatives happen at the abortion mill, which by God's grace, turn into such beautiful blessings from Him.

We then answered "Lord, hear our prayer" to the pro-life intentions being read & Richard read the International Day of Prayer for Peace Blessing. Maribeth continued reading the Pro-Life prayer for each day of the week.

Karen then led our little group in song "You Are Mine" & "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands."  We ended our prayer vigil with the "Prayer for the Conversion of Abortionists and Their Staffs."   (Jenny

August 23, 2012 - Thursday Vigil

Thursday night I  faced WomanCare abortion mill, blest myself with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground around me.  To open the prayer vigil, I said the Prayer for the Helpless Unborn, the Dearest Mother Mary Prayer, for all prayer warriors I said the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel, then said Blessed JPII's Pro-life Prayer, the Prayer for our Pastors, & the Prayer for our Nation.  A young gal drove by almost immediately & smiled & waved, such a great way to start off my prayer hour. I was in a singing mood~not a shock to most of you~ so I sang "Have You Seen Jesus My Lord" & "Here I am Lord".

Maribeth joined me & read from our group prayer vigil booklet, reflections on The Nativity about all the hardships that Our Blessed Mother & St. Joseph went through, how life was not how they had planned it.  The same is true for us. We just have to keep our eyes on Jesus, & He will get us through any difficulty in our life. For us prayer warriors who stand up for life, the sanctity of marriage, the family, some say we are not "politically correct" but we are standing up for God's truth & that is all that matters.  He will judge us when we are called home & are standing in front of Him at the end of our time here on earth, so I just want to say, be strong my fellow prayer warriors!!!  Maribeth then led various pro-life prayer intentions & I answered "God of guidance and hope, hear our prayer.'  We then sang "For the Life of the World" & "You are Called to Tell the Story." A mom, gramma & little girl riding her cute little bike were coming toward us.  The little girl got to us way before mom & gramma did & just stopped & stared up at the two of us singing.  We just smiled at the little precious girl, such a great "pro-life" gift to Maribeth & I.  We could not stop grinning.  Mom & gramma smiled as they caught up to the little one & passed us.  Happy honks this evening in approval of us being out there in peaceful prayer.  I was holding my "Pray to End Abortion" sign on one side of me & my "Vote Pro Life" on the other side of me with my rosary hanging down.  A car of young gals passed us & they yelled a few times" vote for President Obama, vote for President Obama."  I said to Maribeth that I guess my "Vote Pro-Life" sign caused that reaction.  My prayer is that these girls will hopefully wake up soon to the evil of abortion & will be converted to God's light!!!

Maribeth & I then walked up & down the sidewalk & she led the Rosary with a brief Glorious Mystery before each Hail Mary.  A man walked by & looked at our signs then looked at WomanCare abortion mill... many, many more folks are becoming aware of the evil that is going on in that building & most of them do not like it.  Hope they are praying for the end of the killing of innocent babies in there like we on-site prayer warriors are doing.  We ended our prayer hour saying the Prayer for the Conversion of Abortionists and Their Staffs.  (Jenny)

August 16, 2012 - Thursday Vigil

Last night I  faced WomanCare abortion mill, blest myself with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground & opened the prayer vigil praying The Prayer for the Helpless Unborn, Dearest Mother Mary Prayer, Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel/for all prayer warriors in the entire world/on-site as well as home prayer warriors, Blessed JPII's Prolife Prayer, Prayer for our Pastors,  & the Prayer for our Nation.  Right away, two girls drove by with big smiles & nodding their heads in approval of my being there in peaceful prayer, holding my "Pray to End Abortion" sign & my rosary.

I was the lone prayer warrior, so I sang most of the prayers... the rosary, reading a brief Sorrowful Mystery meditation before singing each Hail Mary.  Then I said the Stations of the Cross reading meditations from two different booklets then sang the Our Father, Hail Mary & said the Glory be after each Station.

A young mother walked by pushing a little baby in a stroller with two little guys walking on either side of her.  They smiled at me & gave me their precious little waves, just touched my heart.  How many unborn, precious little boys & girls would be killed Friday morning here at WomanCare abortion mill?!?!?  I got tears in my eyes as I thought of it.  When they walked back from 711, they all smiled & waved at me again.  I smiled back at them.  The little baby just stared at my red, sparkly rosary... just too cute for words.  I heard happy honks throughout the entire prayer vigil.  A young guy walked by listening to his walkman but looked at my sign, smiled & said "How ya doing?"  I said "great, thank you."  Lots of cars going into the various stores slowed down to read my sign & smiled, nodded their heads, looked at WomanCare.  Folks are really getting it... why we prayer warriors are out here... enough killing of innocent babies has gone on at this evil place... it must stop.  No negatives at all tonight.  I ended my prayer vigil reading The Prayer for the Conversion of Abortionists and Their Staffs.  O dearest Jesus, please end this evil soon.  So many of us are fasting & praying daily.  We know You answer every prayer... will this 40th year of killing finally be the year that it will all end? May Your will be done, dearest Lord.  (Jenny)
