May 2013 - Sunday 3:00 p.m. Vigils

May 12, 2013

On Mother's Day I was in my car waiting for someone to join me in prayer.  A women drove up, rosary hanging from her mirror.  I thought great,I will have a prayer partner.  The lady stayed in her car. I got out of mine and started to pray. This mournful lady remained in her car.  I continued to pray.  In a little while she drove away. I had an intuition that she was praying for forgiveness of a secret abortion, perhaps right there some years ago. When people acknowledge that it is important for us to pray and witness, I hope that we bring some comfort and consolation to mothers and fathers who have lost their child or children to abortion, a choice filled with regret.  (Sue)

This Sunday, while I was praying, a lady stopped. As I approached her, she said she wanted to stop and ask me if I was the lady who helped her a couple of years ago to find her husband who was wandering and lost.  I said, yes, it was me. Her heart was still aching, her precious husband of 56 years had passed away. She shared the sorrows of his last months. She wore many Blessed Mother medals. Her three loving sons have told her to try to let go of any regrets about his care in a Nursing Home. I told she was like our Blessed Mother who watched helplessly as a dearly loved person was mistreated. Pray for Delores, she has a wounded heart. She knows that all life is precious and deserves care and respect.

Also, the father of the Hamtramck family who comes out,  prayed on the sidewalk for awhile. He is very faithful. God Bless their family. In God we trust. (Sue)

May 16, 2013 - Thursday Vigil

Last night was another beautiful sunny evening but good to have a sweater on.  Christine, Maribeth & I faced WomanCare abortion mill, shared holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground then Maribeth offered up our prayer intentions for the hour.  Christine read all our opening prayers then we began walking along the grass area to & from the traffic light as she led the Holy Rosary Luminous Mystery medication before each Hail Mary.

Pro choice was yelled by a drive-by screamer & a young woman who was taking pictures of us had her "thumb down" out her front window. What was really!!! cute!!! is that the car in front of her was giving us her thumb up & the little baby sitting behind the young woman with her thumb down had it's precious little hand out the back window giving us a cute little thumbs up.  I just smiled, it was just too cute for words.

A man stopped his van to thank us for speaking up for life. We thanked him for taking time to talk with us.  He was all smiles. He said "not many folks speak up for life, God bless you." We thanked him again.

Another man stopped by to ask why were were praying here & Maribeth pointed to WomanCare & said "they do abortions there." He said, "wow, I had no idea."  She said, so many of these evil places are neatly tucked away in neighborhoods all over the place & we want to let people know that babies are being killed right where they live. He was not happy about this evil happening where he lives.

During the last ten minutes of our prayer vigil, Christine read various prayers, reflections & intentions from our 40 Days for Life booklet to which Maribeth & I answered, "Lord, hear our prayer."  Our Lord has said "if My people will humble themselves in prayer & ask My forgiveness for the sins of the world, I will hear them & heal them".  By what is happening to these abortionists in their trials & many more folks now seeing what abortion REALLY looks like, I am very happy that God is healing us.  It is so great to be able to be out at these killing mills simply praying & this small effort of us PW's is waking up our fellow Americans!!!  A lady was stopped at the light & honking like mad. She liked the three babies on our signs & was giving us thumbs up & a big smile.  (Jenny)

Please come out & join us in peaceful prayer on Thursday nights at 6pm; Friday mornings at 9am or Sundays at 3pm.  God will shower His blessings upon you for doing so.

May 9, 2013 - Thursday Vigil

Last night was another beautiful sunny evening, sweater weather still. Four of us PW's (Richard, Christine, Maribeth & I) gathered in peaceful prayer. We faced WomanCare abortion mill, shared holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground then Richard mentioned our prayer intentions for the hour.  Christine read all our opening prayers then Richard led the Holy Rosary with Christine reading a brief Joyful Mystery medication before each Hail Mary.

As we were praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, especially for the conversion of all abortion doctors & their staffs, a young woman stopped her car & asked about our prayer group then gave me a flyer that Maribeth will post on our blog regarding spina bifida.  This young mom, Stacey, was told to abort her baby because he (Ryan) had spina bifida.  She refused & precious, little Ryan is the light of her life. His picture is on her flyer & his little sister's picture is underneath his. I reached into her car & gave her a hug & an info pack so she can get more info from our website.  All through the night we had many positives. The Holy Spirit continues to touch hearts & souls through our new sign ~  THE COST OF ABORTION with the three DARLING!!! babies underneath.

I had the blessing this a.m. to stop & say a decade of the rosary in front of WomanCare abortion mill & get a hug from Sue, Carol & Ellen, our faithful Friday 9am PW's. God bless you girls!!!

You are all  invited to join us either Thursday nights at 6pm or Friday mornings at 9am.  God will bless you abundantly for being out there for His precious little unborn children.  (Jenny)

May 2, 2013 - Thursday Vigil (AMAZING STORY!)

(AMAZING STORY!!)

Beautiful sunny evening last Th night, but Christine & I were both glad we put our sweaters on as it got a bit windy & chilly toward the end of our prayer hour. We faced WomanCare abortion mill, shared holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground then Christine began our opening prayers after mentioning all our prayer intentions. She then said the Holy Rosary reading a brief Glorious Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary.

As we were praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, especially for the conversion of all abortion doctors & their staffs, a young man, Eric, 22, stopped by & said he was going to drive by but then suddenly felt he had to stop to ask us if he could share his story with us. Christine said absolutely.  This time with him turned out to be such a great blessing for the three of us!!!. When he was 18 & his girlfriend Lexy was 16 "they got pregnant."  So young, confused, what were they going to do, parents not happy at all. He talked about all the emotions that we pro-lifers have heard so often. He did not want the abortion, but she & her parents had it done. They broke up, got back together & have a lot of sorthing through but are both older & he knows all with work out because ~~~ along the way, he found our Savior Jesus Christ & his baptism was last week & his healing continues. He was so on fire & in love with Jesus & he wants to be the best man he can be for his litle one in heaven~they named their baby Sunny because they do not know if it is a boy or girl. I told him his baby is waiting to give him a big hug hello when he is called home to heaven. He said he knows he will see his baby one day. Christine & I felt such joy for this man. He simply stopped to share this with us & asked us to pray for him & Lexy. I said I would pass his story along on our blog & he could be assured that "a kabillion" PW's would be praying for him & Lexy. He said "can we pray right now?"  We said "sure, would you like to lead the prayer?" O my gosh!!! what a prayer he then said!!! We three held hands & Eric offered up the most beautiful prayer to Our Lord, thanking Him for getting him through all the pain he has suffered & to watch over their little one.  He also thanked Our Lord for the joy he now feels since he has been healed & for the blessing of praying with these beautiful ladies & for strength to be a good man the rest of his life. WOW!!! We three hugged good bye, gave him our info packette & Christine asked him to join us in prayer again some Thursday night. That would be great.

I truly believe that our new sign ~  THE COST OF ABORTION with the three DARLING!!! babies underneath (see last week's post) is causing waves, smiles, thumbs up, nods of approval, peace signs toward us. I most definitely feel that is what tugged at Eric's heart & soul because as he walked up to us he first pointed to the sign & said yeah & nodded his head with a look of sorrow in his eyes & then began his story with a very joyful look shining in his eyes. We said the Pledge of Allegiance & Christine closed our prayer
vigil with a beautiful prayer of thanksgiving.  (Jenny)

I invite all of you to be with us in prayer one Thursday evening when your schedule allows.

April 25, 2013 - Thursday Prayer Vigil

It was really!!! windy & chilly this past Thursday, had to keep a good grip on our pro-life signs. I bundled up then blest myself with holy water, sprinkled a bit on the ground, faced WomanCare abortion mill & started the opening prayers.  Then for all involved with abortion in any way I began the Holy Rosary. Maribeth arrives... yeah!!! & Glen a bit later... yeah!!! Maribeth read a brief Sorrowful Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary for us so we could meditate on what our Lord suffered for the sins of us all.  Then especially for the conversion of abortionists & their staffs she led the Chaplet of Divine Mercy & to close our prayer vigil we faced our beautiful American flag & said the Pledge of Allegiance.

Check out the new sign I hold now on our blog ~  THE COST OF ABORTION... & underneath that three DARLING!!! baby pics.  Got lots!!! of positives regarding this sign, waves, smiles, thumbs up, nods of approval, the peace sign... so.... folks are definitely showing us more & more & more that they are pro-life & are happy we are out there praying for the end of the killing of the unborn.
