I arrived a bit early so I faced the abortion mill, blest myself with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground & said part of the rosary with my Pray to end Abortion sign facing traffic. Maribeth arrived & we shared holy water. She also had her pro-life sign facing traffic. She began reading from our Pro-Life Booklet, "Holy Innocents" how King Herod tried to kill Baby Jesus by ordering all baby boys two years old & younger to be killed. "Mary visits Elizabeth" about our blessed Mother going to help her elderly cousin Elizabeth who was expecting a baby, John the Baptist. Mary went 40 miles to & from her cousin's house... no airplanes, no cars, no dishwashers, no hot water heaters, no running water... living was much harder work in her time. We must remember Mary & let her be our example. Whatever help our family members need, it will seem small compared to how Mary helped her cousin during her pregnancy. What a hard life it was way back then. Lord, please forgive me if I ever complain about the crosses You send my way!!! With all the modern conveniences I have, I should be so thankful... & Jesus, I am!!! Maribeth then lead prayer intentions & I answered "Lord, hear our prayer." We each added our own prayer intentions for family & friends & said together a couple of pro-life prayers then sang together "Lord, who throughout thee forty days."
Walking back & forth along the sidewalk, each of us under our umbrella, I led the rosary reading a brief Luminous Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary. A man & his wife got out of a van to get Chinese carry out & he looked our way & said, "Are they (the abortion mill) open this late?" Maribeth said, "No, we are just praying for the babies who might be killed there tomorrow morning." He & his wife just shook there head in sadness. They waved to us on their way out of the parking lot. Another van drove by us & the girl said "Hi" with a big smile, we said Hi back to her with a wave. We heard several happy honks of approval this evening. I must say, that the light rain during our prayer hour was just so refreshing after all these really hot prayer vigils. We prayed The Prayer to St. Michael for all prayer warriors, especially the priests who join in prayer at the abortion mills all over our world. We closed our prayer vigil saying together the Prayer for the conversion of the abortionists & their staffs. (Jenny)

August 2, 2012 - Thursday Vigil
I arrived a bit early so I faced the abortion mill, blest myself with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground & said the Prayer for the Helpless Unborn, St. Michael the Archangel prayer for all prayer warriors & a couple other opening prayers for the vigil. When Maribeth arrived, I was pretty warm so we moved under the trees & began reading from our Pro-Life Booklet, "Reflections on Moses", various pro-life prayer intentions, answering each one with "Lord of life, hear our prayer" "Reflections on Mary & Joseph finding the child Jesus in the Temple"...being refreshed in "His Father's House". We said the "Bless our Family" prayer, read "Reflections on Solomon" & the "Prayer for Family Life". We ended the group prayer vigil singing "We Shall Overcome".
Nancy had joined us & she led us in the rosary, reading a brief Joyful Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary. Maribeth said how the Holy Spirit was working as she watched a car run a red light & miss hitting four young boys riding their bikes. As they passed our little prayer group, Nancy had just said the first part of the Hail Mary & one of them joined in with us, "Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now & at the hour of our death. Amen. What a special moment for us all!!

July 26, 2012 - Thursday Vigil
Richard & Sue were already at the abortion mill as I arrived. We huddled under the shade trees, blest ourselves with holy water & began reading from our Pro-Life Booklet, "Prayer of Parents", Pro-Life Prayer", "Prayer for Peace in the Family" & others. Richard led us in various intentions which we answered Lord, we cry, hear our prayer. Maribeth joined us as we continued our pro-life prayers. A car load of young guys drove by shouting "abortion, abortion, abortion." We prayed for them... they don't know what thay are saying." Such sad youth, such misguided youth. Sue told us about two very pro-life folks who stopped by one Friday morning to thank the prayer warriors. She will send her stories to Maribeth to post to our blog. We ended the 1/2 hour group prayer vigil singing "All are Welcome." I must say, tears filled my eyes singing this song. Maribeth then led us in the Chaplet of Divine Mercy & in the time we had left, Richard read more pro-life prayers as we heard happy honks going by from those who were so supportive of us praying out there for the end of abortion. July 19, 2012 - Thursday Vigil
Richard & I were joined by Norma for the prayer vigil this evening. The gentle drizzle of rain was so nice, after the 97 - 101 days where we all huddled under the shade of the trees. This evening, we took turns reading Pro-Life Beatitudes Reflections & the "blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake; the Kingdom of heaven is theirs" really meant something to us. The one negative tonight was a young woman driving by yelling "I love abortion" with an arm sticking out of the back window & a middle finger. They were stopped at the light, so I held up my rosary toward their car & we were able to say two Hail Mary's for those misguided young women before they took off at the green light. When they grow up & God converts their hardened hearts, they will feel awful for those words. We are not hurt but those things, but they themselves are hurting their own souls & breaking their relationship with Our Lord... so very sad. The rest of the evening was all positive starting off with another car who was stopped at the light & a woman thanking us for being out there & a guy yelled "good job" & happy honks, smiles & waves, thumbs up. We sang some songs of praise & ended the 1/2 hour group vigil as we usually do by saying the Prayer for the Conversion of Abortionists and their Staffs. Richard then led us in the rosary & Norma read a brief Glorious Mystery medication before each Hail Mary. It was actually a bit chilly this evening... good ole' Michigan weather!!! (Jenny)
