Day 40 - March 24, 2013 (Palm Sunday)

Babies and Moms Spared from Abortion during the Spring 2013 40 Days for Life Campaign!
Amen!
 ====================================================================
What a most beautiful closing hour of prayer--pictures and write-up below!
Thank you Father Joe and Knights of Columbus...and all the mighty prayer warriors who were able to join us in officially closing the Spring 2013 40 Days for Life campaign.  We are so blessed by you commitment and prayers! (Maribeth)
===================================================================

3:00 p.m. Vigil
Several of us gathered for our last Family Prayer Vigil for this campaign.  It sure was windy and chilly...but our hearts were warmed with the hope our Lord gives us.  Thank you Sue for preparing our 30 minute vigils for this campaign and for all who came out to share in prayer.  Thank You Jesus for being with all the prayer warriors as we lifted up our prayers for conversion of abortionists and for all the moms and dads who think this is the only solution.  We want to encourage and give hope to everyone who needs to make a choice.

6:00 p.m. Closing Vigil

Our group of about 30 PW's made two circles, the inner circle faced a table with Jesus on the Cross placed on it by our K of C men, the outer circle faced traffic in all directions holding pro-life signs. We are so thankful to Wally, Dave & the other Knight of Columbus men, in their uniforms!!! who led us in the Holy Rosary, each man taking a turn reading a Sorrowful Mystery meditation before each decade.  And especially we are very thankful to Fr. Joe who closed the first half of the 6pm Prayer Vigil with a beautiful pro-life meditation and a special blessing for all of us who were able to be there this evening. When our pastor joins us, it is a very beautiful blessing upon us from our Lord. Also, Fr. Joe brought blest palms for us PW's which was so nice of him to do!!!

Those who were not dressed for the freezing, windy weather then left. None of us need to get sick out there. The other half of our group sang the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the conversion of abortionists & their staffs.  Nancy then read from our 40 Days for Life Family Prayers, Reflecitons & Songs booklet a Prayer for the Unborn. Next she offered up some  Pro-Life Intercessons to which we all responded Loving God, hear our prayer. A  Family Prayer followed that then various Prayer Intentions to which we all resopnded Lord, hear our prayer.  We then faced the American flag & said the Pledge of Allegiance to end our 40 Days for Life Spring Prayer Campaign. I have been fasting in the a.m. juice only as I usually do but this past week I asked our Lord to please bless us with a special Closing Prayer Vigil & He most definitely did!!! To all who know me, this will shock you... I was sooo!!! cold tonight that I didn't even buy myself my usual Sunday treat... a Georgia mud fudge blizzard made with chocolate Dairy Queen ice cream. Easter Sunday I'll get one  :o

We heard lots of happy honks, saw many waves & nods of approval along with smiles & a couple drive-by screamers "go home" "I love abortion." For each of these lost souls I held up my Rosary & said "with these chains I bind that lost soul to the Immaculate Heart of Mary."  Our Lady has said, she will tend them as her own, so Mother Mary will be praying for their conversion to Her Son's truth & light as do we PW's. I always do this for the "not so nice" things that are heard because it's much better to pray for them then to let them get you angry. Those who shout out mean, stupid, hateful things need our prayers very much. After Easter, our new prayer vigil schedule is listed below for you. May God bless you at Easter & always!!! (Jenny)

Prayer Vigils will continue at WomanCare abortion mill ~ 15 & Dodge Park

1/2 Hour Family Prayer Vigils, Sundays, 3:00 p.m. ~ Sue (BEGINNING DATE TBD check website)

6 p.m. Thursday night prayer vigils ~ Jenny/Maribeth

9 a.m. Friday morning vigils ~ various PW's

We thank all who were part of this year's Spring 40 Days for Life Prayer Campaign!! Being out there in peaceful prayer DOES make a big difference.
Maribeth, Sue, Jenny :o)  :o)  :o)

Day 39 - March 23, 2013

Morning Vigil

I was able to stop by the clinic for a bit in the morning, during Bethlehem Temple's Adopt A Day.  It was a beautiful sunny day--thank You God!  Many happy honks and thumbs up.  Carol told us of a Marine who stopped by to inquire about the prayer warriors.  He shared his heart and joined in prayer with the group.  What a blessing for their church to be out there to share the truth and pray with this young man who honors our country with his service.  Diane also joined us in prayer for the unborn.  It was a very peaceful prayer time.  (Maribeth)

6:00 p.m. Vigil

I brought 8 pro-life balloons tonight so they could be brought home to those who had little ones. I saw the Bethlehem temple PW's as I pulled up to WomanCare abortion mill.  I blest myself with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground then hugs to all. It was so great to see Pastor Bradley, Carol & all the dedicated PW's.

Pastor Bradley offered up a beautiful prayer for their last hour of prayer time today (7-7...wow!!! such dedicated PW's!!!) & his prayer also began my 6pm prayer vigil.  I began my opening prayers facing traffic holding my Pray To End Abortion sign & my pink & blue "babies are a blessing from God" baloons & black "40 Days for Life" balloon. Lots of thumbs up, waves, smiles & a few drive by screamers yelling who knows what, totally could not understand one word they were yelling at us.  However, we all know that the drive-by screamers are the biggest blessing for us because Jesus told us ~blest are they who suffer for My sake, their reward is great in Heaven.

Maribeth arrived & got the group photos then took over reading the opening prayers as Darryl, Shelley & myself walked along with her. Then she led the Holy Rosary with a Joyful Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary. It was almost 7:00 & time for all of us PW's to gather in a circle as Pastor Bradley offered up our closing prayer for the evening. We sang Amazing Grace & faced the beautiful American flag & said the Pledge of Allegiance. Pastor asked us to remember that man in Iraq who is being tortured & treated horridly because he will not denouce Jesus.  Many of us fast & pray daily for him & those all over this world who are persecuted for their love of Jesus.  We don't realize how lucky we are here in America to be able to stand outside an abortion mill in peaceful prayer (without the armed guards mowing us down with their guns.) Jesus, we thank You & praise You for the blessing of this great country. Help us to keep her a pro-life, God-fearing, God-loving nation that upholds freedom of religion. Amen!!!  (Jenny)

Day 38 - March 22, 2013

During these last days of our 40 Days for Life Prayer Campaign, followed by Holy Week, Good Friday, Easter Sunday & the following Sunday/Divine Mercy Sunday, we ask the Lord to wrap His healing arms around every mom & dad who think that their only answer is to have the abortion dr kill their precious, little baby in the womb. Let them see us in peaceful prayer for them & let God touch their hearts & souls to be opened to His life-giving LIGHT.

Christine & I blest ourselves with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground, then faced WomanCare abortion mill as she began the opening prayers. Nancy joined us & offered up all the pro-life prayer intentions we would be praying for during the hour. Maribeth arrived as well.  It was 39 with a bit of a breeze so it was still definitely "dress in layers" time here in Michigan.  We walked the entire hour as Christine led us in the Holy Rosary reading a brief Sorrowful Mystery before each Hail Mary. Next was the Chaplet of Divine Mercy with St. Faustin'a meditations on the Passion. Each Friday, her words help us realize just what Our Lord suffered for our sins. I get tears in my eyes most Fridays listening to St. Faustina's words His agony & death. Lord, forgive us for our sins against You & help us be more holy people!!!  We closed with the Pledge of Allegiance & hugged good bye & all headed to our cars to warm up our fingers & toes... not frozen tonight but definitely very cold.

Those walking by or driving by waved, nodded in approval, smiled & happy honks were heard at various times & one drive-by screamer. We totally could not understand one word he was yelling. We prayed for his hardened heart to be converted to God's truth & light. The Jet's Pizza delivery guy waved as he drove by. Four teen boys walked by & smiled & waved. A man from the market walked over to see our signs "Pray To End Abortion.  He said "where is it?" I said WomanCare & pointed to it & said that is where they do abortions. You would not think so with a name like that, huh?  He just shook his head & looked at that place. A young boy & his grandpa were stopped at the light reading my sign, so I smiled & waved & they did the same back to me.    (Jenny)

Day 37 - March 21, 2013

I blest myself with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground then faced WomanCare abortion mill holding my Pray to end Abortion sign facing traffic & started the opening prayers offering them up for all involved in abortion in any way. Feeling the cold wind right away I started to walk to the traffic light & back.  Glen joined me shortly as did Maribeth.

We prayed the Holy Rosary with a brief Luminous Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary.  A van stopped by & the woman driving thanked us & we talked a bit & gave her an info pack.  Her eyes were filled with tears. Lord, help whatever is hurting her. She & the man riding with her were very thankful that we are all praying there for the end of abortion. We then sang the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Immaculate Mary & closed with the Pledge of Allegiance. Happy honks, waves, smiles & a negatifve this evening. Two young men yelled while they were stopped for the light, not so nice things with gestures as well.  I held up my pro-life sign toward them & my rosary & my praying hands. They just laughed at us. We three said a prayer for their misguided souls that hopefully one day they will see the evil of abortion. What a pathetic excuse for men! Nothing like the protecting, loving, self-giving, holy men we women want in our lives but prayers to God can change any hardened heart so that's exactly what we did for those two.

The next meditation was "Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice's sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." This is why the negatives are a great blessing for us on-site PW's.  We know we are doing the right thing for the babies, their moms & dads & that we will receive Our Lord's embrace when we get to heaven. What a great thought!!! :o) I'm looking forward to that!!! :o) As Shawn's update says, we are near the finish line for this Prayer Campaign. These 40 days sure did go by quickly but I must admit, my old body is dragging these days ~ not 20 anymore, ha, ha, ha. Good night all, God bless you!  (Jenny)

Day 36 - March 20, 2013

After reading Shawn's update from ~ God in Moscow ~ I am so humbled & will try to not complain about cold weather or any other small crosses that I bear while in prayer for our precious unborn. At least here in the USA we don't have to worry about the military showing up to "shut us up" like most folks in Russia have to worry about. O how blest I am!!!  Thank you, Jesus, for making me an American citizen!!! I praise You!!! & love You!!!

St. Martin de Porres had been there from 7am for their Adopt a Day to Pray(7am-7pm). PW's Regina, Marilyn,  Sue were there so Christine & I joined their group. We blest ourselves with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground then hugged hello/good bye. Marilyn had to leave & Sue insisted that Regina get into her car & warm up for a bit. Sue would be able to pray for another 15 minutes or so then would warm up in her car on her way home. We must remember what Fr told us a while back, God does not!! want us to get sick out there so dress warmly & listen to your body when you need to warm up a bit. Sue offered up our prayer intentions for the 6pm prayer vigil & we began saying all the opening prayers. Maribeth arrived as did Regina's husband Jerry.

Two young women had stopped their car to make a left-hand turn & were giving us thumbs up & big smiles so I gave them each an info packet & thanked them for giving us their support & hopefully we will have two more PW's joining us after they check out our website.  We continued walking to & from the traffic light, still cold, windy weather here in Michigan, little crosses to endure for the end of the evil of abortion. Chrisitine led the Holy Rosary with a brief Glorious meditation before each Hail Mary then the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the conversion of the abortion doctors & their staffs. Jesus can do all things. He will answer all our prayers in His own perfect way. We just have to be faithful PW's for Him & He will do the rest.

The lady stopped by twice with names of folks to pray for. We gathered in a circle to pray for those on her various lists & for her also, as she is living out of her car. We ended our prayer vigil singing Immaculate Mary, America the Beautiful & said the Pledge of Allegiance to our beautiful flag (getting beat up by the wind lately).  (Jenny)

Day 35 - March 19, 2013

I was blest with Richard joining me this chilly evening ~27 degrees & with the wind it felt like 17. We were both bundled up well & ready for our prayer hour.  The nice young man that talked with us the other night walked by & said "you two go home & get warmed up."  I said, "no, we are just starting our prayer hour."  He said, "God bless you, stay warm then waved to us & walked on.

We blest ourselves with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground & Richard offered up our prayer intentions for the night as we walked over to the lawn area facing WomanCare abortion mill.  I began reading all the opening prayers & as it was really!!! windy & cold, we decided to walk the entire time to keep warm.  Richard led the Holy Rosary as I read a brief Sorrowful Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary.

Another blessing for this evening was that two young women stopped by to talk. They had been wanting to talk to PW's for a while & finally got the time. One of them lives in the area & the other one lives in Fraser. Richard explained a little bit to them & I gave them each an info packet so they can check out our website & also one of them picked out two pro-life signs from my trunk. They are going to start praying soon in front of WomanCare, not this evening though, neither of them was dressed for the chilly night. What darling girls!!!

Richard then led the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the conversion of all abortionists & their staffs & we actually had enough time for him to lead another rosary. I could see folks giving us the thumbs up as we walked against the wind. It almost knocked up back now & then.  At 7pm we faced the flag & closed our prayer vigil with the Pledge of Allegiance.  We also said a prayer for the woman who stops by often & asks PW's to pray for various women who are hurting from abortion & we prayed for all those post-abortive women as well.  I was so glad to get in my car to warm up my freezing fingers & toes.  This was definitely one of those nights when you had a bit of extra pain to offer up for the end of this evil in our world.  (Jenny)

Day 34 - March 18, 2013

Folks really appreciate us PW's being out there in bad weather. Last night, Maribeth & I walked our prayer hour in very!!! chilly weather with wind & rain. Happy honks of approval were heard & we could see thumbs up in the cars as they stopped for the traffic light. After blessing ourselves with holy water, Maribeth offered up all our prayer intentions for the evening & we prayed the Holy Rosary together with a brief Joyful Mystery before each Hail Mary. Then for the conversion of abortion doctors & their staffs, we sang the Chaplet of Divine Mercy finishing with the Pledge of Allegiance. We hugged good bye & warmed our frozen fingers & feet in our cars. I couldn't belive it was 7:07 as I held my fingers near the heater vent.

Maribeth said, Satan will try to make this the toughest week for us as it is the last week of our 40 Days for Life Prayer Campaign but we PW's are a very strudy bunch & say to him "get thee behind us Satan." We will never stop praying for the end of this evil in our world & God is answering our prayers in various ways in warious places as we all know by reading the updates from our PW's in this area as well as updates from Shawn & PW's all over the world. Thank you, Lord!!! May God bless you all.  (Jenny)

Day 33 - March 17, 2013

3:00 p.m. Vigil
Nine of us gathered for the Family Prayer vigil, hosted by Sue, on the very chilly, but sunny sidewalk.  We opened our prayer time with the song "Lord, Who Throughout These Forty Days" -- what great encouragement as we enter into our last week of the official campaign.  Our focus was on the Holy Family and the many trials they endured, all the while remaining in complete obedience to God's plan for them.  We had many happy honks and thumbs up; one car rolled down their window and thanked us for being there and asked that we "keep up the good work."  While we were singing "Here I Am, Lord," one of the owners of the strip mall came and dumped a large flowerpot of dirt into the corner "pond" -- it splashed all over him!  It was just an odd sight.  We concluded our 1/2 hour of prayer time with the Pledge of Allegiance and "God Bless America."  Thank You Jesus for this gathering of friends of faith for LIFE.  (Maribeth)

7:00 p.m. Vigil
Five PW's this evening!!! Christine, Maribeth & myself blest ourselves with with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground then Christine offered up our prayer intentions & asked St. Patrick to pray along with us. She led the opening prayers & the Holy Rosary reading a brief Sorrow Mystery before each Hail Mary. Nancy joined us & a little bit later Kathy joined us who is spreading the word at Trinity Lutheran Church & is thinking about Adopt-A-Day for her prayer group in the future... excellent!!!

A young man walked by & said "glad it is warming up a bit for you ladies" & made the sign of the cross. It was sunny out, that's true, but quite chilly & our fingers & toes were on their way to freezing but we offered it up for the unborn, their moms & dads as always. When he was walking back he stopped & talked a bit with us & said, "I've always been pro-life, maybe not in the case of rape, but even then they should not kill the baby because someone would want that baby." We talked about women who were conceived in rape & how they love their moms so much for giving them life & how they pray for their dads conversion. I gave him a bunch of Baby Jesus prayer cards to pass out to his pro-life friends. What a nice young man. We thanked him for taking time to give us his support. He said "I'm 100% in support of what you are doing out here & don't stop. Abortion is killing babies & it's awful."

Christine then led the Chapet of Divine Mercy with St. Faustin'a meditations on the Passion & a couple of boys rode their bikes by us, all bundled up against the cold & wind & nodded their heads in approval & waved to our group of PW's. A lady drove up to us & gave us names of Vickie Light, Tracey Patercsak & Angie Carrier & asked if we would pray for them. We said "yes." As she drove off, we gathered in a circle & Christine led a beautiful prayer for these women as well as the lady who gave us their names. She stops by often & it looks like she is living out of her car. May our Dear Lord bless her with whatever help she needs to get in a better financial situation.

We then faced our beautiful American flag & said the pledge of Allegiance & it was 7:04 & our prayer time together was over. Before Maribeth & I got in our cars to warm up, we went to the Chinese Gourmet to read the note that Mrs. Pong had left there. She & a man were bringing boxes out during our prayer hour & we were afraid that she was closing her Chinese carryout business but were glad to see her note saying that she will open up again on April 2. So I will be getting my excellent carryouts again soon from that darling lady. I was so happy to be able to give her a big, loving hug from all of us PW'S at the funeral home a while back as we prayed for her husband who has been called Home by our dearest Lord.  (Jenny)

Day 32 - March 16, 2013

(Today is a great date!!! 3/16)

Day 31 - March 15, 2013

It was cloudy, drizzling & a bit chilly this evening but Christine & I were dressed in layers so no problem. We blest ourselves with holy water, sprinking a bit on the ground & Christine offered up our pro-life intentions for our prayer time together. We said the Prayer for the Helpless Unborn & for all PW's & HPW's the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel. She then read all the rest of the opening prayers as we huddled under our umbrella's. I head a couple of drive-by screamers, "pro choice" & "go home." Gloomy day & our prayer hour begins like this but in a moment a car stopped next to us & the window rolled down & the lady had her thumb up & gave us a big smile & said "God bless you." We thanked her & gave her our info packet. She kept saying, "God bless you, God bless you" as she drove away. Christine said, "That was so nice!!!"

Next, Christine started leading the Holy Rosary with a brief Sorrowful meditation before each Hail Mary & as we got to the traffic light & faced traffic, a young man was sitting in the passenger's seat, smiling & waving. Then happy honks & thumbs ups, waves, smiles throughout the hour. Next, she led the Chaplet of Divine Mercy with St. Faustina's meditations on the Passion. This was offered up for the conversion of abortion doctors & their staff. We then faced the flag, said the Pledge of Allegiance & I checked the time & it was 7:00... perfect. We said our good byes & I warmed up my fingers & toes sitting in the car listening to Karen's CD. I listen to it each night on the way to the prayer vigil. It is so beautiful & sets a spiritual, prayerful mood for the upcoming hour of peaceful prayer in front of WomanCare abortion mill. Her voice is like angelicl!!!

Good news from Shawn today: abortion worker quits! May God hold this women in His healing hands & bless her with finding another job & give her His healing from the scars that working at an abortion facility leave. (Jenny)

Day 30 - March 14, 2013

Seven prayer warriors this evening!!! Oster & his daughters Mary & Gladys stopped by for a bit & led us in the first decade of the Holy Rosary. He led us in the opening Rosary prayers then his daughters each led five Hail Marys & the Glory be. So great to have young ones leading us in prayer!!!

Christine, Nancy, Susan, Carmen, Maribeth & I then walked the rest of the prayer hour holding our pro-life signs taking turns leading the Rosary reading a brief Luminous Mystery before each Hail Mary. Christine then led us in the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. We closed with singing Immaculate Mary, America the Beautiful & said the Pledge of Allegiance. From 35 degrees & real windy last night to 44 degrees tonight & a slight breeze & sunny. Lots of waves, thumbs up, smiles & happy honks this evening. Two guys rode their bikes by us & nodded in approval & smiled. A car stopped at the light with dad, mom & four little girls in the back seat, all waving & smiling at us. What a blest prayer hour this evening. Good night all, God bless you! (Jenny)

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Day 29 - March 13, 2013

Christine & I blest ourselves with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground then faced WomanCare abortion mill as she offered up pro-life intentions for tonight. It was 35 degrees & the wind at times almost knocked us down, our fingers were freezing right away but we offered it up for the end of abortion. We began our walk from the abortion mill to the traffic light & back as Christine led the Holy Rosary reading a brief Glorious Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary. She then led the Chaplet of Divine Mercy as well & various pro-life prayers & intentions from our Family Prayer booklet during our last ten minutes of the prayer hour. We closed with saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Lots of happy honks & thumbs up & no negatives. It was so great to get out of the freezing cold wind & sit in my car with the heater on as my fingers warmed up. But we PW's are happy to be out there to remind folks passing by that evil is happening right here in our own neighborhood & most do no want this to continue. We will be out there in peaceful prayer until it ends. Good night all, God bless you.  (Jenny)

Day 28 - March 12, 2013

Christine & I blest ourselves with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground then faced WomanCare abortion mill as she offered up all the pro-life intentions we would be praying for last night. We started our walk to & from the traffic light on the grassy prayer area as she led us in the Holy Rosary reading a brief Sorrowful Mystery before each Hail Mary. 1) The Agony in the Garden 2) The Scourging at the Pillar 3) The Crowning with Thorns 4) The Carrying of the Cross 5) The Crucifixion. As St. Faustina says in her meditations on the Passion of our Lord, "the world has no idea of what He suffered for our sins." We kept that in mind throughout the entire prayer hour.

We received waves, thumbs up, smiles, affirmative nods from those who drove by & also heard "pro choce" yelled at us from a drive-by screamer. These folks will never hear our side of it if they continue to do the cowardly thing & just scream as they drive by. Most definitely! ! ! God has given each one of a free will & freedom of choice. Our PW mission is to be out there in peaceful prayer for the the moms & dads ~ that their choice will be LIFE for their little unborn sons & daughters in the womb.

Next Christine led us in the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the conversion of all abortion doctors & their staffs. For our last ten minutes, she read beautiful pro-life prayers & intentions from our Family Prayers, Reflections, & Songs booklet as I answered Lord, we cry, hear our prayer; Loving God, hear our prayer; Lord of life, hear our prayer. To close our prayer time together, we said the Pledge of Allegiance looking at our beautiful American flag on the other side of the streef from the abortion mill.

It was not! ! ! 64 degrees last night. After the opening prayers, my fingers were starting to burn but as always, this small amount of pain was offered up for the little ones in the womb who are scheduled to be killed on Friday morning...not sure if the mill is even open yet but we will get an update from one of the Friday a.m. PW's soon I'm sure. Lord, help us end this evil in our world!!! Amen!!!  (Jenny)

Day 27 - March 11, 2013

Christine & I blest ourselves with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground & faced WomanCare abortion mill standing underneath our umbrellas. We said the Prayer for the Helpless Unborn & for all PW's & HPW's we said the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel. Then we heard Maribeth...yeah. That makes 3 PW's here this evening. She said "LOOK AT THE RAINBOW." So we turned toward her and WOW! ! ! an absolutely beautiful, HUGE rainbow from one side of the street to the other. The colors were so bright we could hardly believe it. Then the sun came out & the rain started to slow down. What a blessing God sent us. We just stood there & looked at it until it faded away. I have not seen a rainbow that bright & that huge in a very long time. All I can say is WOW!!! Christine then led us in the Holy Rosary & as it was windy we did not get our Rosary booklet out. She just gave a meditation after announcing each Joyful Mystery. She then led us in the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the conversion of all abortion doctors & their staffs. She then read all the various prayers we usually start the prayer vigil with. To cloes, we said the Pledge of Allegiance & sang America the Beautiful. We heard happy honks throughout the hour & as we were leaving we heard three honks & three different cars had folks waving to us... Rainbow to start our Prayer Vigil & 3 folks waving to end it. Those last three folks reminded us of the Trinity, Father, Son & Holy Spirit. What a blest night for us 3 gals!!! :o) :o) :o)  (Jenny)

Day 26 - March 10, 2013

From freezing fingers & toes to 64 degree beautiful Michigan weather this evening!!! I blest myself with holy water & sprinkled a bit on the ground & began my opening prayers. Maribeth joined me...yeah. We walked along the grass with our pro-life signs & got thumbs up & happy honks & waves. Darryl stopped by to chat a bit as did Sue & Connie. Darryl prays with Sue every morning from 7-8a.m. God bless all our on-site PW's!!! as well as our HPW's!!! We continued slowly walking & praying the Holy Rosary with a brief Sorrowful Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary & sang our 3 meditations after each decade. Next was the Chaplet of Divine Mercy with the booklet that has St. Faustina's meditations on the Passion. (Marilyn, I can't thank you enough for putting this booklet together for me. It is just beautiful... brings tears to your eyes at various parts & PW's use it a lot!!! when they are our there praying for the unborn.) We closed with the Pledge of Allegiance.

As we sat in our cars & talked a bit, a car pulled up in front of Maribeth & I. It was the couple that had yelled "go home" before they went into the Chinese Restaurant. The young woman did the Robert Dinaro move ~ pointed to her eyes ~ (I'm watching you) ~ then pointed at us then gave us the finger, then they drove off. I unbuckled my seatbelt, jumped out of my car & yeah!!! they were stuck in the driveway by traffic so they could not make their left-hand turn. So... I ran up to the sidewalk, pointed to my eyes ~ (I'm watching you) ~ pointed at them ~ but did not!!! give them the finger. Instead, I showed them my praying hands & thumbs up & waved & gave them a big smile to let them know I am praying for them!!! Neither of them said anything to me or gave me the finger back. They just sat there then made their left-hand turn as soon as traffic cleared. When I got home I told Tom that I wish I would have said... "Do you want to have an intelligent conversation about why you think it's okay to kill babies in the womb or do you just want to show me your IQ?"... but I didn't think of that at the time ... no matter. They know that I am praying for them & that's really what I wanted to let them know. Such sad, lost, souls & cowards!!! When they were confronted by me, a peaceful prayer warrior showing them niceness & a loving heart after they had flipped off Maribeth & I, they had no remark. Lord, heal their lost souls & give them Your truth & light & teach them to be nicer human beings!!! geeeeezzzzzz!!! This IS!!! America, the land of the free!!! We DO!!! have freedom of speech in America!!! Of course the other side, the pro-choice side, thinks that only they!!! have freedom of speech but we pro-lifers are NOT GOING HOME as that young woman yelled to us to do. NO!!! We are going to be out there bringing light into the evil places where little unborn boys & girls are being killed & moms are being terribly hurt by thinking that the only choice they have is to have that doctor kill their little ones. Lord, help us PW's stay strong for Your precious unborn!!! Amen!!! Holy Spirit, thx for giving me the "nudge" to jump out of my car & confront that couple. They most certainly did not expect that!!! I bet they thought they were so cool by flipping off Maribeth & I but hopefully I gave them something to think about, that even though they were not nice to me, I'm praying for them. God only knows how there hearts were touched but I hope their hardened hearts were softened a bit this evening by my prayers, thumbs up, wave & smile for them. Lord, I put them totally into Your healing hands.

Shawn has more pics for us in his latest update...yeah!!! So glad to be a part of this worldwide prayer campaign against this evil in our world. Get thee behind us Satan!!! We will NEVER stop our prayers & fasting to rid our world of your sickness...the killing of unborn boys & girls!!! Good night all, God bless you!  (Jenny)

Day 25 - March 9, 2013

After blessing myself with holy water & sprinkling a bit on the ground I started the opening prayers & saw two PW's walking toward me ~ Kathy & Mike from St. Thecla's...yeah!!! Mike was kind enough to take over reading the opening prayers & leading us in the Holy Rosary with a brief meditation before each Hail Mary. Another PW then was walking toward us ~ Christine from St. Renee's...yeah!!! We continued walking along the grass area holding our pro-life signs.

We received blessings of thumbs up & waves & a man stopped his van next to us & said "God bless you for praying here. I hate that a place like that is over there, pointing to the abortion mill. It's 2013 & people don't believe in God anymore." I said, "I know it seems that way but at the March for Life 650,000 people were there & so many young men & women." He was very happy to hear that & happy also to receive our info packette to check out our website. I asked him to stop back & lead us in prayer when he gets a chance & he shook his head yes. Kathy mentioned all the postive things people are saying to her & Mike as they pray for the unborn there. Then a little later I heard a drive by screamer but I have absolutely no idea what he said. I said a prayer for his conversion to God's light if he had screamed a negative & if he screamed a positive I prayed for his heart to continue to grow in the culture of life. Then a man walked over to our group & said "Good what you are doing out here." We thanked him for taking the time to stop by to give us his support.

Christine then led us in the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Kathy & Mike had to leave & Christine & I finished the last ten minues standing under the street light & reading pro-life prayers & intercessions from our beautiful 40 Days for Life Family Prayers, Reflections & Songs booklet that Maribeth & Sue printed for us PW's a while back. I'll tell ya, soooo many folks really are inspired from praying at the abortion mill using this booklet. Our deepest thanks go out to Maribeth & Sue. The biggest fan of this booklet is Fr. Joe :o) I gave him 10 booklets to pass out to folks who had asked him for a copy... yeah!

I must tell you all about that precious Baby Jesus prayer card we PW's pass out. I was picking up my spinach salad at Subway a little earlier & after I paid I said to the young women, "here is a tip & a Baby Jesus prayer card for you." Her eyes filled with tears & she said, "This is beautiful. Grandma used to be the one who gave out prayer cards & this is perfect!!! I just got a new car & I will keep this in it for a blessing." I said, "here is a little holy water also" & put a little on her hand. I always ask Baby Jesus to bless the folks I give His prayer card to & many times I have had experiences like this one. I'm getting Holy Ghost goose bumps telling you all about this. It is just so excellent how our great God is working through us humble servants down here!!! Thank you, Baby Jesus for touching sooo many hearts with Your little prayer card & also, thank you!!! for the media coverage Shawn tells us about. We can do nothing on our own, but You, dearest Baby Jesus, can do everything!!! Amen! (Jenny)

Day 24 - March 8, 2013

Christine & I blest ourselves with holy water, sprinkled a bit on the ground then faced WomanCare abortion mill as she read the opening prayers.  Then Maribeth arrived & we three walked along the grass area holding our prolife signs as Christine led us in the Holy Rosary reading a brief Sorrowful Mystery meditation before each Hail Mary. Then she led the Chaplet from the booklet with St. Faustina's medications on the Passion. We then faced the flag & said the Pledge of Allegiance to close our vigil. I'm glad I dressed in layers... not quite summertime yet. We heard happy honks & saw thumbs up throughout our prayer hour. No negatives this evening.

We did have one lady who drove up saying that she agreed with us, but still thought a woman should have the choice when it involves rape.  We explained that less than 1% of abortions are due to actual rape--most women who claim its rape are just fearful because of what they consented to do.  Also, it has been documented that women who carry to term and then adopt out their child conceived in rape have a better chance of healing from the trauma of being raped.  Why violate your body willingly by choosing abortion?  The lady who drove up was very friendly and took in all we shared.  Thank you God for the ability and opportunity to speak up for life! (Maribeth)

I told them I had the blessing of being able to get to the funeral home to give Mrs. Pong a big hug from all of us PW's & to let her & her son & daughter know that we will keep them & their entire family in our prayers as they go through this difficult time of Mr. Pong passing away. She hugged me so tight & said to thank everyone for all their prayers, love & support.  She just sobbed & it broke my heart but I held on to her & let her have a good cry.  They had a beautiful memory card for Mr. Pong with a great picture of him on it & some Chinese thoughts about him: Suffered hardship. Survived independently. ~ Regained self-confidence. Worked diligently toward a better life. ~ Being an honest and humble man. Fulfilled the filial duty to the parents. ~ Raised children by his example so that they would pursue their successes earnestly. ~ Treated others generously. Maintained trustworthiness and integrity. ~ Loved his family. Cared for them considerably. ~ Never expected anything in return. Was always ready to help others.  I left the funeral home thinking that we must try to live like Mr. Pong did because we never know when God will call us home. He was born in Feb 1948, so is just a bit older then me & it made me realize that every day is so precious & I must do my best each day that God gives me to make this world a better place. Shawn's message lets us know a very good way to do good in this world - pray at an abortion mill. I am so glad I am able to do so.  (Jenny)

Day 23 - March 7, 2013

Sue, our co-director, was already at the clinic waiting to join me...yeah!!! We blest ourselves with holy water & I sprinkled a bit on the ground then we faced WomanCare as she read the opening prayers after she had offered up our prayer intentions for this eveing. Maribeth arrived to join us...yeah!!!! We finished the opening prayers & started walking as we prayed the Holy Rosary with Sue reading beautiful family, pro-life meditations regarding the Luminour Mysteries. As we walked back toward WomanCare abortion mill, we could see Susan walking toward us...yeah!!! So we four PW's offered up the chilly winds, the frozen fingers & the frozen toes to God asking Him to accect our little aches & pains for the end of this evil in our world. We took turns leading the various decades of the Rosary then sang the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the conversion of abortion doctors. Happy honks were heard now & then & a drive by screamer drove by but we sang the Chaplet louder & louder so we did not hear his words. We did pray though for all those with hardened hearts to be converted to God's the culture of life.

When Sue was reading the pro-life meditation about family life with it's hardships & joys, four young kids started walking along the piles of snow toward us & then when they got to us did jumping jacks giving us all big smiles. Such energy we all remember from our youth!!! Perfect timing to see these darling kids as Sue was reading about the joys of children to our families. This is the reason we are out here in peaceful prayer... that little ones may have the chance at life.

Shawn's updates are so great to read each night!!! They help me remember that my efforts at the abortion mill each night are pleasing to God & DO make a difference. (Jenny)

Day 22 - March 6, 2013

I blest myself with holy water & shared it with Christine who led us in opening prayers.  Maribeth joined us as we continued the opening prayers. Then Christine led us in the Holy Rosary & Chaplet of Divine Mercy for all the intentions she had mentioned at the start of the prayer vigil. We slowly walked to & from WomanCare abortion mill holding our Pray to End Abortion signs & Lady of Guadalupe candle. The weather man had said it was warming up & it did a bit but please know that you all still need to dress in layers to be out in prayer for an hour; no good to get sick from this changing Michigan weather. Baby beeps were heard as folks drove by & a "? you" from a drive by screamer. We decided to take it as a bless you... not ____  you, as we could not really understand what was said. We ended with the Pledge of Allegiance looking at our big, beautiful flag on the other side of the street. You will see that Shawn has mentioned our PW's in his Day 22 update. Thx Shawn!!! (Jenny)

Day 21 - March 5, 2013

I like to listen to Karen's CD when I'm driving to the abortion mill. Her songs put you in a peaceful mood & her voice is so beautiful!!! I got there & a PW was standing facing traffic in prayer & it was Karen!!! How about that?!?!? It was so good to see her!!!. We hugged hello & she finished her rosary as I faced the clinic & began the opening prayers for the 6pm prayer vigil. She left a little after that & was quite frozen & I almost did the same thing at 5:30 when I was getting ready to pray. The sun was out & it seemed like a warm night & I wasn't going to dress that warm, but I changed my mind & dressed in my usual layers & I am soooo glad I did. After Karen left, I began walking along the grass area & it was a bit windy & cold!!! I prayed for all involved in abortion in any way as I said/sang the Holy Rosary reading a brief Sorrowful Mystery before each Hail Mary. Heard happy honks & a couple of drive by screamers "pro choice" "woman's choice". I just said a prayer for each young man that they would realize that they are talking about a little tiny baby... not a choice!!! Then a man walked over the snow pile & said he wanted to let us know that he is 100% for what we are doing out there. He said he was from St. Mary Margaret I think but not sure. Anyways, I thanked him & gave him an info packet so he can check out the main website & ours as well. I thanked him again for taking time out of his evening to stop & talk & give up his support to us prayer warriors & that we really!!! appreciated it. If he was dressed warmer, I would have had him lead some prayers but he just had a light jacket on. Hopefully, he will stop when he sees others out there praying & will join them.

I then sang the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, especially for abortion doctors as well as for those who drive by & yell. If they only would not be so cowardly & would take a moment to just talk to us, they would see that we are simply praying for the woman's choice to be life for her baby not death. I closed the vigil with the Pledge of Allegiance & my fingers felt frozen but warmed up in few minutes when I got into my car. No matter what the pro-abortion side says, we ARE making a difference out there just peacefully praying. (Jenny)

Day 20 - March 4, 2013

Last night I was blest with two PW's joining me, Christine & Susan. The cold weather continued but we walked back forth in peaceful prayer for the unborn. We were thankful for the happy honks of approval & said a prayer for the drive-by screamers "kill babies." These young men are so mixed up!!! May they obtain the grace to leave the culture of death & live in God's truth & light. As we left, I told Susan that we will all keep her in our prayers as she begins her chemo again. (Jenny)

Day 19 - March 3, 2013

3:00 p.m. Family Prayer Vigil

Yes...it is still winter in Michigan--but the sunshine was a blessing as we gathered for the 3:00 p.m. Family Prayer Vigil.  Sue had us reflect on the story of Moses -- how he was protected and saved by purposeful choices.  We, too, need to make purposeful choices for life as we go about our day-to-day tasks.  We read a couple of beatitudes and pondered some very wise words from Mother Teresa (below), which encouraged us in this battle for life.  We sang the song "All Are Welcome" and prayed that this would be true in our society--that each human being would be welcomed and respected.  Our vigil ended with the Pledge of Allegiance and warm hearts.  (Maribeth)

“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”
 ~ Mother Teresa ~

6:00 p.m. Prayer Vigil

Cold weather continues, 26 & a smidge breezy this evening. I faced WomanCare abortion mill & said a couple opening prayers after blessing myself with holy water & sprinkling a bit on the ground around me. Then started my walk toward the traffic light slowly as I said more opening prayers. Christine arrived...yeah!!! She took over reading the rest of the opening prayers & I held my Pray to End Abortion facing traffic as we walked along the grass/snow area. Maribeth arrived...yeah!!! Christine offered up our pro-life intentions for the evening & led us in the Holy Rosary reading a brief Sorrowful Mystery before each Hail mary. We sang the usual three intentions after each decade. Then for the abortion doctors she led us in the Chaplet of Divine Mercy with St. Faustina's meditations on The Passion. Hearing how Jesus suffered sure helps to offer up our chills. We ended our Prayer Vigil with the Pledge of Allegiance, freezing fingers & toes but totally warm hearts for the unborn we had offered up prayers for during that hour. Heard happy honks throughout the night on this cold but peaceful Sunday night. (Jenny)
