6:00 p.m. Vigil
A
little warmer this evening, but still had to dress in layers w/scarf.
Richard was already at WomanCare & Regina arrived a bit after I got there.
After holy water, Richard led the Holy Rosary with Regina reading a brief
Joyful Mystery before each Hail Mary for pro-life intentions Richard offered up
before we began our prayers. He then led the Chaplet of Divine Mercy
especially for the conversion of the abortion doctors & we finished our prayer
hour together with him reading the various opening prayers & some prayers
& litanies from the 40 Days for Life booklet ending with each of us looking
at the American flag & saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
We
heard happy honks & very enthusiastic thumbs ups & waves & smiles
& nods of approval from those passing by. Only a couple of negatives ~ "get a
life" from a guy on a motorcycle (I turned my pro-life sign toward him
& held up my Rosary)…. then a car with a few young men slowed down &
the one in the back seat spit on the ground & said "abortion should be
legal." I said no! no! no! & Regina said "that's why we're out
here, because it IS legal." Richard said, "why won't they talk
with us?" They are just cowards who want to drive by & speak out
their remarks toward us~ but do not wish to have an intelligent conversation
about babies in the womb. We just have to think about the horrid way our
Lord was treated on His way to the Cross & these teensy negatives toward us
are nothing compared to His agony. Richard included the "negative
drive-by screamers" when he read our final prayer "For the Conversion
of Abortionists & their Staffs." (Jenny)
